Planning Your Short-Term Rehabilitation Stay

Whether you’ve had a reservation with us for weeks or are coming to us unexpectedly after an injury, medical event or emergency surgery, we take care of you from your discharge from the hospital to your discharge back home.

You’ll be greeted like a valued guest and we’ll start planning for your return home as soon as you walk through the door. We’ll develop a plan of treatment around your specific situation and work to get you home doing the things you love as soon as possible.

While receiving the latest in treatment and therapy, you’ll enjoy our five-star accommodations and amenities.

What to bring

Your comfort is our priority when you come to Alden – you may want to bring several sets of comfortable, loose fitting clothes, sneakers or other nonskid shoes. If you’ve had leg or knee surgery, you may want to pack some shorts. Bring your favorite sleepwear, including pajamas, robes and t-shirts. While we supply many toiletries, such as soap and shampoo, you are welcome to bring your own favorites. Don’t forget your toothbrush, makeup, and anything else that makes you feel good. If you have a favorite pillow or blanket, add that to your list as well. To keep yourself entertained, bring along any reading material as well as your smartphone, tablet, Kindle or laptop (free WiFi is available through all our buildings).

Heading back home

Once your therapy is complete, we’ll work with you to devise a plan to maintain the results you’ve achieved and discuss any medications, home modifications or additional therapy you’ll need to maintain optimal functionality. We also can arrange for home medical equipment and supplies.

Our goal is to help you have a successful discharge to home so you can live your life with as much energy, comfort and independence as possible.
